Conserving the Past; Celebrating the Present, Connecting to the Future
Mission Statement: The Saint David Heritage Society is committed to serving the community of St. David and the San Pedro Valley as a society enabling the preservation and development of our historical and physical heritage, while promoting the cultural arts.
Over 20 years ago, the St. David Heritage & Cultural Arts Society was formed and partnered with the local school district to save and restore the historic 1938 Elementary Building and its Mary P. Lansing Auditorium. Today, two of the classrooms are in full-time use by students, and the auditorium serves as a valuable venue not only for students, but also for community meetings and events.
In keeping with our mission and in support of the historic rehabilitation projects, the St. David Heritage Society has founded three major annual events, Pioneer Days, Broadway and Beyond, and the 1880s Historic Military Ball; has supported extracurricular school activities, including the new AgriCulture program and a pending literacy and performing arts program; and has preserved not only our historical trees but also the personal histories that form the deep roots of our community and the families who call St. David “home.”
Thank you for supporting our work, our communities, and our families.
